Ripping Paper!
A crucial aspect of young childrens' growth is the development of fine motor skills. A fine motor skill is the coordination of small muscles of hands and fingers with the eyes which helps a child to perform various activities like zipping up a sweater, holding a pencil, scribbling and much more.
One way of developing fine manipulation skills is the act of tearing.Tearing paper helps your child to enhance their grip on the paper with their fingers, increases hand strength and also makes way for more complicated actions like opening and closing zippers and tearing bread into small pieces. This is a fun way to keep your child engaged and entertained whilst enhancing key skills.
Part of the pleasure in ripping activities is the sound!
Why not make a collage of a rainbow or your name!
