Transitions in early years, go beyond simply acquiring new skills or learning to read and write. They encompass emotional, social, and cognitive adjustments as our children adapt to new relationships, environments, and increasing independence.
A smooth, well-supported transition can have a lasting positive effect on our children’s well-being, their academic growth and development, and their self-confidence. By ensuring we are building solid transitions, we are helping build confidence, reduce anxiety, and develop a positive attitudes towards school.
We are now on week 3 of our Transition Programme with Good Shepherd Primary school.Every week 1 class from good Shepherd Nursery school swap with 1 primary 1 class from the Primary School.
We get to spend time investigating the primary School's large playground spaces and have time becoming familiar with the primary 1 classroom and the teachers.
The boys and girls are already becoming super familiar with the "big School" and are excited on our visits.
